Comparison of ticket fees, payment processing, VAT as a cost and the subscription for the year described. This figure is not total net earnings.
One subscription year everywhere: the same number of paid tickets at the same price every month, one order per ticket, each paid with a standard EEA card. The organizer carries every fee, and guests pay the same price everywhere.
Worked example for an Austrian organizer that is a business without input VAT deduction (say, a small business under § 6(1) Z27 UStG), gives its providers no VAT ID and sells tickets without VAT. VAT on fees is a cost to it; where a provider charges no VAT, any Austrian reverse-charge VAT due, at 20%, is included. The example holds only while ticket revenue stays VAT-free, under the small-business exemption up to €55,000 a year. Unconfirmed tax or payment charges are marked unknown and are not treated as zero.
GatherMatter e.U. currently charges no VAT on its own platform fees and subscriptions under the small-business exemption in § 6(1) Z27 UStG.
Assumptions
Trara Pro: the subscription is included as twelve monthly payments, €828.00 in total. Paid annually it costs €490.00 per subscription year.
Trara Pro: the allowance of €50,000 in ticket revenue applies per calendar year. An annual plan earns the full allowance, a monthly plan a twelfth per paid month, and a trial none. The example counts twelve paid months in one calendar year whose sales use up the allowance; revenue above it carries 1%.
Trara: Free includes payment processing in the fee. Pro adds exactly Stripe’s costs for payment and payout, plus a 20% cost share for non-deductible reverse-charge VAT while the small-business exemption applies. This is not VAT shown on our invoice. The example counts 1.5% + €0.25 per payment, Stripe’s price for a standard EEA card, and one payout a month with 0.25% of the amount paid out, €0.10 per payout and €2.00 for the month. These costs are in the payment processing row.
Trara Free: if what we keep of a calendar month’s fees after Stripe’s costs does not cover Stripe’s fixed account costs (€2.00 for a month with a payout and €0.10 per payout, each plus a 20% cost share), we deduct the missing part, at most these costs, from the payout as Stripe account costs. The example counts one payout a month and shows these costs in the payment processing row.
Eventbrite: the organizer carries the fees, which the source says is allowed.
pretix: 2.5% of the net price, at most €15.00, plus the payment provider. This example uses Stripe with standard EEA cards (1.5% + €0.25 per payment). The tax comparison applies only to the expressly described organizer profile.
pretix: the fee is plus VAT. Its pricing page states that EU customers without a valid VAT ID are charged German VAT, so the math adds 19%. Tax treatment for the Austrian recipient must be checked separately.
pretix: any Austrian VAT of 20% that the organizer owes under the reverse charge on the fees of Stripe is included as a cost; how this applies to an individual organizer must be checked separately.
Eventfrog: the organizer carries the fees, which the source says is allowed.
Eventfrog: tickets up to €50.00 use the Free plan; above that the provider moves them to the Plus plan automatically.
Eventfrog: the fee is plus VAT. This example assumes an Austrian business without input VAT deduction; Austrian VAT at 20% is included as a cost, whether it is invoiced or owed under the reverse charge.
Tito Classic Standard without an approved discount: 3% per ticket, capped at €25, with no monthly base fee. One Stripe payment with a standard EEA card per ticket; the organizer absorbs fees.
Tito’s source states the local tax rate when VAT details are absent. The example applies 20% to the Tito fee; the organizer’s actual Austrian tax obligations still require professional confirmation.
Tito: any Austrian VAT of 20% that the organizer owes under the reverse charge on the fees of Stripe is included as a cost; how this applies to an individual organizer must be checked separately.
oeticket.Light: the organizer carries the fees, which the source says is allowed.
Not included: refunds, cancellation fees, add-ons and anything a source does not state. This figure is not total net earnings.

Tito Classic: standard rate 3% per ticket, capped at €25, plus payment provider and applicable VAT. The example uses Stripe standard EEA cards, 20% VAT on Tito fees and the expressly stated tax assumption for Stripe. The discounted rate requires approval; payouts follow the payment provider.
The calculation covers your own ticket shop: 5% of the admission price, at least €0.39 per ticket, including payment fees and VAT. The organizer absorbs the fee; guests pay the admission price. Fees for the oeticket network and box office are excluded.
Stripe publishes 1.5% + €0.25 per payment for standard EEA cards; other cards may have different rates.
Other providers, not calculated
We name these providers with their source and the day we read it, but without a total. The sentence with each provider says which input a calculation lacks. A sales network, a full service or a music platform is not the same offer as an own ticket shop; where that applies, the service scope is stated with the provider.
NTRY
From the linked source we could not independently confirm over which period NTRY counts revenue for its revenue steps, how the steps are applied, or whether VAT is added. We therefore do not currently show a price calculation.
TCKTNEST includes payment processing but charges plan-dependent monthly and ticket fees with a minimum. Event limits and announced Austrian VAT from 1 November 2026 change annual costs. Our calculator does not yet fully represent this.
TicketPAY publishes separate ticket, booking and payment-processing fees. We show no total without confirmed Austrian contract and tax terms and the same calculation basis.
Essential covers up to 1,000 tickets per year; Growth above that is individually offered. Our annual examples exceed this limit, so we show no confirmed total.
Ticket Tailor separates ticket fees from payment-provider fees. The EUR tariff in its price widget and VAT for our tax profile are not fully reproduced here, so we show no total. Prepaid credits and optional monthly services require separate checks.
VAT treatment and Austrian contract terms are not confirmed here, so we show no total. Its native payment gateway for other currencies does not apply to EUR.
Weezevent publishes country-specific prices with different tax and payment components. The offer applicable to a new Austrian organizer is not confirmed here; we show no total.
Weeztix, formerly Eventix, offers prices by country and annual ticket volume. Complete terms for our Austrian example are not confirmed here, so we show no total.
ticket.io offers individual terms with system and payment-provider fees. We show no calculated total because no tariff confirmed for our example is available.
Eventbrite, pretix, Eventfrog, Tito, NTRY, oeticket.Light, KUPFticket, Fienta, Eventjet, TCKTNEST, TicketPAY, Billetto, Ticket Tailor, Humanitix, Weezevent / WeezTicket, Weeztix (formerly Eventix), ticket.io, RA Pro, ticketorganizer, WIEN-TICKET, Ticketmaster Austria are trademarks of their owners. We name them as word marks only, to compare prices. We have no partnership with any of these providers, and none of them has reviewed this comparison. We show no price comparison for NTRY, KUPFticket, Fienta, Eventjet, TCKTNEST, TicketPAY, Billetto, Ticket Tailor, Humanitix, Weezevent / WeezTicket, Weeztix (formerly Eventix), ticket.io, RA Pro, ticketorganizer, WIEN-TICKET, Ticketmaster Austria.
The comparison is based on the named providers’ public pricing pages as of the date shown. The amounts are worked examples under the assumptions stated above and can differ in an individual case. Each provider’s current terms are binding. To report an error or a changed price, write to hi@trara.app and we’ll review it promptly.
